 Create your account at https://createaccount.luiss.it/. Two hours after activating your Luiss email account, you will be able to set up your Keyless account to access Luiss Learn, the platform where you will find all the materials and details about Freshers’ Week!

 

Below is the schedule of activities: 

 

WEDNESDAY 4 SEPTEMBER – VIALE POLA CAMPUS

LUISS LIFE DESIGN 

This activity aims to break the ice and give life to moments of socialization, inclusion, and learning. It demonstrates how fun and enthusiasm can be effective tools for conveying important messages.

The session will address various themes such as self-support, self-enhancement, creativity, curiosity, and kindness in an interactive manner. The session will conclude with a final summarizing moment called ‘BELIever’ (Best Life Ever), which will provide participants with tools and advice to navigate university life and beyond.

The session will be led by professional actors from the Lykan group, who will share important and successful stories from companies such as Olivetti, Google, and many others!

 

DEGREE PROGRAMME WELCOME TALK 

Join us for a Plenary Session where you will meet Professor Aldo Sandulli, the Director of the Degree Program, along with Elisabetta Pietrocarlo, Program Manager, and lecturers Giovanni Piccirilli (Transnational Constitutional Law), Filiberto Brozzetti (Legal Theory) and Doctors Donato Greco and Manfredi Marciante (coordinators of Grand Challenge). They will provide an in-depth presentation of the Degree Programme, covering its contents, organisation, and rules. Also participating in the Welcome Talk is Alumni Gregorio Consoli, Partner Lawyer at Chiomenti. The meeting will conclude with a brief overview of the prospects and professional outlets of the academic course. 

 

MEET YOUR TUTOR 

The tutor plays a key role in guiding students throughout their academic journey, supporting them make important decisions. In this interactive session, the Degree Course tutors will present the Tutoring Service and explain how the University works, including its educational model. This will offer an immediate overview of the main opportunities and services the University offers, and there will be time to allow participants to ask questions and clear up any doubts they may have.

 

GENERATIVE AI: INNOVATION AND RESPONSIBLE USE 

A meeting dedicated to generative AI tools to promote their responsible use that integrates with new learning methods. The functioning, opportunities, and dangers of generative AI management techniques will be explored through examples and practical applications of software such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Mistral AI, Dall-E, Midjourney, Sora, and Suno.

It will focus on the risks associated with the use of this technology, such as the dissemination of misinformation, privacy issues, ethical issues, accountability of automated decisions, and the social impact from the failure to train cognitive skills and potential unemployment.

 

STUDY METHODS: TIPS AND TRICKS 

A meeting on study methods to discover how best to approach and organise university studies. The activity will focus on 3 main themes: 

1. Learning Study. Exploring the learning and study methods, emphasising the importance of ‘flexibility’ – being able to change the approach if the method adopted does not bring the desired results. 
2. Time Design. Advice on how to organise your study time – how many hours and pages to study and how to balance your day between study and free-time. Practical exercises to develop a personal time management table.  
3. Self-support and Peer Support. Learning how to ask for help when you feel in trouble and how to support your peers. 

The session will be led by professional actors from the Lykan group, who will recite a decalogue entitled, “What Not to Do to Live a Happy Life.” The decalogue is built on opposites, and the play, combined with the actors’ interpretation, is meant to prompt reflection on the opposite meaning of what is being said.

At the end of the session, it will be possible to download a summary of the Tips and Tricks presented using a QR code. The document will also include links to online resources, such as apps for planning and monitoring time, podcasts, and websites etc.

Welcome Point at Viale Pola and Viale Romania 

Skills Development   

The Skills Development Office organises various projects, workshops, and activities throughout the year. The staff is available to provide information on: 

• Soft Skills Courses: Credit-bearing pathways reserved for undergraduate students designed to develop their soft skills; 
• Academic Gym: Optional, experiential workshops designed to strengthen students’ soft skills;
• VolontariaMENTE: Practical and challenging volunteer activities organised with external associations and partners both in Rome and across the country;
• Cultural Activities: Including guided tours organised in the different University sites with students acting as ‘Ciceroni’ and the theatre workshop.

 

Viale Romania Campus and Viale Pola Campus 

Luiss Digital Tools  

At the IT Support Offices in Viale Romania and Viale Pola, the ‘Guide to Luiss Digital Tools’ desk will be available. You can receive support for configuring Luiss institutional accounts (Keyless, email, and app) and get technical assistance on using all digital teaching tools (Webex, Web Self Service, class schedule consultation, booking systems for access to Luiss spaces and services). 

 

Viale Romania Campus, 32 – Luiss Loft 

EDU  

The EDU Office provides information on the Luiss educational model and offers guidance on the GAP Activities to be followed in asynchronous mode as part of the curriculum.

 

E-Learning  

The E-Learning team is available to provide information on the Luiss Learn digital education platform.

 

ENGAGE.EU  

The staff present at the desk will help you discover the ENGAGE.EU network, including the mobility opportunities and various projects organised by the Alliance.

Buddy Program
At their dedicated desk, the Buddies will introduce themselves to the freshmen and provide an overview of the orientation and support activities they oversee, to which students can turn throughout the academic year.

IDO

The desk managed by the International Development Office will promote awareness of exchange and international mobility programs, including: Double Degrees and Structured Partnerships, LLMs (Master of Laws), QTEM (Quantitative Techniques for Economics & Management), BI-Luiss Joint MSs in Marketing.

Library 

Library staff are available to provide guidance on resources and services: 

• Available print and electronic collections (textbooks, monographs, periodicals, and databases); 
• The online catalogue and how to access electronic resources both in-house and remotely; 
• Services available (reference, lending, and bibliographic assistance); 
• The Library’s spaces;
• Additionally, inclusion services will be available to facilitate access to resources, services, and spaces.
