Programme of activities on Friday 5 September at the Luiss Campus in Viale Pola
Here is the schedule of activities:
Luiss Life Design
During Freshers' Week 2025 you will take part to an activity to break the ice and create opportunities for socialising, inclusion and learning, demonstrating how fun and enthusiasm are also valuable tools for conveying important messages.
The topics of the meeting (self-support, self-enhancement, creativity, curiosity and kindness) will be addressed in an interactive manner, thanks also to the participation of a group of professional actors, and will conclude with the “BELIever” (Best Life Ever) summary, which will encapsulate the lessons learned from the meeting and offer advice on how to best approach not only one’s university studies but also one’s life.
Presentation of the Undergraduate Education Model and Meeting with the tutors
Freshers' Week 2025 will be the opportunity to attend the presentation of the new Undergraduate Education Model and conclude with an introduction to the tutoring service.
Tutors are key figures who will accompany new students throughout their academic journey, supporting them in the choices they will make during their university studies.
The relevant tutors will explain the tutoring service to the students that they have been assigned to tutor throughout the course of the academic year. The tutors will also provide some initial information on how the University works and on the Luiss education model, with a chance for students to ask questions and air any doubts. The aim of this welcoming event is to provide freshers with the basic tools to navigate the Luiss world and familiarise themselves with the context, opportunities and services available.
Study Method: Tips and Tricks
Study method meeting aimed at giving students advice and suggestions on how to approach and organise university study. The activity will focus on three main topics:
- Learning Study. Explanation of learning and study methods and the importance of the concept of “flexibility”, knowing how to change one’s way of seeing things if the method adopted does not lead to the desired outcome.
- Time Design. Advice on how to organise study time: how many hours and pages to study, how to organise the day between study and free time for leisure/sport, etc. Practical exercise involving the drawing up of a time management chart.
- Self-support and Peer Support. Conveying to students the importance of asking for help when they feel in difficulty and the importance of peer support.
The session will be led by professional actors who will facilitate the discussion with students. At the end of the session, via a QR code, students will be able to download a summary of the Tips and Tricks presented as well as links to online resources such as time planning/monitoring apps, podcasts, websites, etc.
Generative AI: Innovation and Responsable use
During Freshers' Week 2025 you will join a meeting dedicated to generative AI tools to promote their responsible use in combination with new forms of learning. The functioning, opportunities and dangers of generative AI will be explored through examples and practical applications of software such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Mistral AI, Dall-E, Midjourney, Sora and Suno.
Special attention will be paid to the risks associated with the use of this technology, such as the spread of misinformation, privacy issues, ethical questions, accountability for automated decisions, and the social impact of a failure to teach and develop cognitive skills and potential unemployment.
