WEDNESDAY 6 SEPTEMBER – VIALE ROMANIA CAMPUS
As a first entry into the Luiss world and its values, you will find waiting for you a healthy and tasty snack offered at the Luiss Community Garden, a space that chronicles our University’s commitment to Sustainable Development.
You will be able to meet your classmates and some of the students involved in the University’s many sustainability projects as well as discover how you can participate in the garden activities and other accountability initiatives on Campus.
ARIA
ARIA is an acronym, in Italian, that stands for:
- Accoglienza meaning welcome
- Responsabilità meaning accountability
- Inclusione meaning inclusion
- Autonomia meaning autonomy
The ARIA course is designed to spotlight students’ desire to resume in-person group activities, and to support them to become independent from their families and resilient in the face of the challenges encountered during the pandemic.
The course themes include empathy, responsibility, independence, and future.
Everyone will participate in a game/quiz designed to introduce yourself and get to know your future classmates. After the game/quiz, you will be divided into groups to participate in the following workshops: “How I Move”, a body language workshop aimed at improving body awareness and how your present yourself; “How I Live”, an ice-breaking exercise with AS Luiss aimed at moving beyond the virtual and into the real through shared values embodied in sports as well as socializing and developing live relationships with team game activities; and “How I Study”, which will provide you with useful tips and advice on how to approach college study.
Department Welcome Talk – Presentation of the Degree Program
The Program Director, Prof. Matteo De Angelis, will meet you in a plenary session in which he will present the Degree Program and provide an overview of the prospects and professional outlets for your course of study along with Members of the Steering Committee, including Gianluigi Degli Esposti Zeboli, Chartered Accountant; Chiara Dalla Chiesa, Head of Strategic Marketing of Enel X and Fabio Picone, Senior Manager at Michael Page.
Meet your Tutor
The tutor is a key figure who will accompany you throughout your university career, supporting and helping you in all phases and choices of your academic experience. You will receive instructions on the functioning of the University, learn about the innovative training model offered at Luiss, and have the opportunity to ask questions and clarify any doubts you may have. This welcome meeting aims to offer guidance on how to navigate the world of Luiss, allow you to familiarize with the context, and learn about opportunities and services.
Growth Mindset
This activity will be introductory session to the first module of GAP1 integrative activities that you will have the opportunity to participate in during the course of your first year.You will hear from Luiss managers about their personal and professional experiences at and beyond Luiss, focusing on the topic of Growth Mindset. You will have the opportunity to reflect on how challenging experiences can be an opportunity for growth, and share your experiences with future peers.
Tours with Buddies
During Freshers’ Week, a student Buddy will guide you around the Campus and its spaces dedicated to students. Tours will take place at the Viale Romania and Via Parenzo Campuses from 10.30 to 4.30 pm.
Welcome Cocktail
At the end of the day, you will be treated to an on-campus welcome cocktail.
Open Doors Tutoring
Starting Wednesday, 7 September, you will be able to meet your tutor for a one-on-one introductory interview.
Conversation on Leadership
Conversation on Leadership is a panel organized on the occasion of Freshers’ Week that will take place online, live from the Luiss Loft, on Friday 9 September at 11.00 am. The panel will feature two professionals from leading Italian and international companies. With the moderation of a Luiss lecturer, the Managers will converse on issues related to Leadership with their own personal reflections, experiences and considerations on how leadership models can be adapted or are conditioned by the needs of one’s own sector, personal or cultural elements, or more generally, the work world context.
Welcome Ceremony
In the afternoon of September 12th, the traditional Freshers’ Welcome Ceremony will be held with institutional greetings from University executives.
